Aran Abe (KIIRO) received a contribution to further develop his craftsmanship as Japanese musician. He will do this by immersing himself in the Japanese music scene, developing his own form for his music in Japan and connecting with other Japanese musicians and producers to create musical collaborations. His goal is to create a crossover between Dutch and Japanese Hip-Hop.

Aran was born in Tokyo and lives and works in Rotterdam. With his sample-based beats and hard-hitting drums popping 'bakibaki' through the speakers, the Rotterdam-based artist creates Dutch-language old-skool Hip-Hop with influences from his Japanese background. In 2022, he won the Sena Performers Grand Prix of Rotterdam for best Hip-Hop act. He was also nominated for the Rotterdam Music Awards in the "The Promise" category. On Friday, May 19, 2023, he released his debut EP Gogetter.
