Wide Open Space

In Roosmarijn's debut album Wide Open Space, to be released in fall 2024, you can hear the search for space. The idea originated in the middle of the corona time, during which the 29-year-old viola player/vocalist experienced a great emptiness. Yet in that emptiness, in the unknown, in the fear, there also appeared the possibility of starting something new. A vast plain that beckoned her to go on an adventure and step outside again. The album translates a huge turn inward and outward and shows and hears that Roosmarijn has grown up. With Morris Kliphuis (KAPOK) as creative producer, Sam Jones (LUWTEN) as audio engineer and a brand new band behind her, Roosmarijn takes you through different spaces in which you, as a listener, are invited to join her on an adventure, out into the open plain.

Roosmarijn is an exceptional singer-songwriter who, armed with her viola, loop station and intriguing voice, changes the sense of time and space. Her music features dreamy melodies with a complex rhythmic carpet pad, performed in an expressive manner. She has already performed on various stages in the Netherlands, Germany, France, Austria, Iceland, Norway and Sweden. She released her EP Inside Out at the end of 2019 and is currently working on her debut album.
