Project grant

Leonard Luka received a grant to write new music in collaboration with musical duo .multibeat. The music will result in an album to be released in the fall of 2025. With this album, they aim to combine their stylistic characteristics and make a fresh, contemporary contribution to the Dutch soul and R&B landscape from their different backgrounds.

Leonard Luka is an artist, songwriter and producer with Dutch-Indonesian roots from Utrecht. His music is characterized by a unique blend of soulful vocals, compelling grooves and warm, nostalgic soundscapes. With hyper-personal indie soul and R&B tracks, he takes listeners into his colorful multiverse.

.multibeat is a Utrecht-based collective consisting of Thijs van Zutphen (bass), Aron Smit (drums) and Boudewijn Pleij (keys). Their shared love of hip-hop and R&B led to various collaborations as a band and as a producer team. They combine this sound with jazz influences, disco and house for a danceable and eclectic whole.
