Development grant

Gildor

The Utrecht-based singer-songwriter Gildor received a grant to develop his fourth album, adopting a new, minimalist approach. After the layered compositions of his earlier releases, he now focuses on a more direct sound and will be experimenting with his band on innovative recording techniques in natural spaces.

Gildor was discovered on YouTube in 2021 by British music veteran Sandy Roberton, who was immediately drawn to his warm, distinctive sound. Roberton offered him a contract with Beverly Martel Music, and later that year, Gildor and his band traveled to London’s iconic RAK Studios to record their debut album, Silent River, with producer Isabel Gracefield (Sam Smith, Radiohead). A year later, Gildor successfully released Silent River through Polymoon Music, followed by his second album, Long Way Round, both offering a relaxed blend of alternative folk and acoustic pop. This year, the band completed a third album, set to release this winter, drawing influence from Crosby, Stills, & Nash and Jonathan Wilson, featuring a more psychedelic and atmospheric sound.
