Solo guitar recordings

The guitarist Ella Zirina is continuing her musical journey by fully immersing in the world and sounds that the guitar can create. She has a passion for exploring different textures and timbres of her instrument as well as loops, rhythms and foremost, improvisation. Ella's is to record a solo album with her own compositions as well as arrangements of her some of her favorite music like Gershwin, Strayhorn, Radiohead in a way that showcases her voice and approach on the guitar. Ella Zirina (1997) is a jazz guitarist, composer and bandleader from Latvia, with a passion for the different textures and timbres of her instrument. In 2021, Ella graduated with the highest honors at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, having studied with Jesse van Ruller, Reinier Baas, among others. “Zirina is a guitar virtuosi with her own style. Her Gibson seems to be an extension of her persona.'' (jury Virtual Jazz Club Competition awarding 1st prize). She was working together with BIMHUIS for ‘New Makers’ talent development project till January 2023. Within this project she recorded and released her debut album 'Intertwined' with her trio, featuring a string quartet and renowned Dutch saxophonist Tineke Postma on few tunes.
