Coming Up For Air

Roufaida received a grant to work on her debut album, in collaboration with producer Wannes Salomé. This album is the follow-up to her debut EP, which earned her no less than two Edison nominations in 2023.

Roufaida creates an alternative pop universe with North African elements, inspired by Arabic poets, gnawa grooves and Nina Simone's credo: "It's an artist's duty to reflect the times." With influences from Björk and Fairuz, Roufaida produces indie pop songs with guitar, guembri, vintage Riffin cassette samples and beats, in both English and Arabic.
