Amarte Literatuurprijs

The Amarte Foundation is proud to launch the first-ever Amarte Literature Prize. This new award has been created to give writers and essayists the chance to highlight a peer's book that sets a new direction or leads to new thoughts. In short, a book that inspires and challenges.

The prize consists of a substantial cash prize of €15,000 and an essayistic reflection to be published in the summer issue of the Nederlandse Boekengids. The winner will be announced at a private awards ceremony on 26 March.

The jury of the Amarte Literature Prize consists entirely of writers and essayists. The award does not aim to crown the "best" book, but a book that crosses conventional boundaries, inspires and challenges both readers and fellow writers. Nominated are books for which the authors received an Amarte contribution:
