Sjors Roeters received a grant for writing his debut novel. Grotesque self-doubt and self-imposed exposure therapy push the protagonist of Roeters' debut novel into increasingly difficult situations. With style and self-mockery, Roeters explores the complex interplay between personal struggles and societal catastrophes. His work balances absurdity and profound reflection, centring on a journey dominated by intense introspection and the confrontation with injustice.  

Previously, Sjors published as a journalist in Vrij Nederland, Follow the Money, and De Groene Amsterdammer. He grew up in Groningen and now lives in Amsterdam.
