Een Lichaam Dragen
Hannah Chris Lomans received a contribution to develop the interdisciplinary performance Een Lichaam Dragen in collaboration with choreographer Gerben Vaillant and performer/dramaturg Balthazar Glotain. The performance is an extension of Loman’s, eponymous debut collection of poems and is a search for an impossibly made wholeness, a wholeness that is granted no space for existence in the outside world. This performance opens up a landscape where other, more actual rules apply. A landscape that is sometimes comforting, sometimes dangerous, sometimes empty, sometimes encompassing. A body moves through that landscape, trying to internalize it.
Hannah Chris studied Creative Writing at ArtEZ and attended the Slow Writing Lab of the Dutch Foundation for Literature. For them, text is a place where they can embody a radical yet precarious fluidity. In 2020, Hannah Chris participated in the Paris residency of Flemish-Dutch House deBuren and published the chapbook Blijf De Kou Wegstrijken at Wintertuin Publishers. Their writings have appeared in De Gids, De Revisor, nY and NRC Handelsblad, among others. Their eponymous debut collection of poems was published by De Bezige Bij.
