Julia Rombout and Leila Sahir received a grant from Amarte for their short film MAYSA.

MAYSA is a short slice of life film about aspiring rapper Maysa (15) who tries to relate to the street culture that is strongly influenced by hip-hop in which she finds herself. With this film, the maker Leila Sahir and producer Julia Rombout want to pay attention to the automatic physical survival response “tonic immobility”, also known as freezing or paralyzing with fear, while undergoing sexual violence.
