LIMINAL MAN

Kurt Platvoet received a grant to develop a film about the invisible lives of people we would rather avoid, and how we as a prosperous country deal with this. About polarization, identity, love, the importance of empathy and fear of the strange. A film with genre elements, but above all grounded in humanity and the world today. A film about liminal spaces and liminal people.

Kurt studied directing & screenwriting at HKU, and since then has mostly made short films and music videos. His short films Valt een man uit de lucht and Het Land Der Blinden played at festivals around the world and won several awards. He also made the TV episode Beenlampman for the VPRO.
