Harvest

Igor Schiller

Igor Schiller received a grant to continue the film trilogy Harvest. This second installment interweaves themes of self-discovery, resilience and the ongoing quest to belong. The film follows the story of a protagonist who, after a period of fear and isolation, sets out on a transformative journey away from the comforts of home. Fueled by a desire for independence and success abroad and a curiosity to explore the unknown territories beyond his familiar horizons, the protagonist's journey develops into an unexpected odyssey of self-discovery and self-invention full of challenges.

Igor Schiller is a Serbian-born artist living in Amsterdam. He graduated from the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague in 2021 with a BA in photography. His artistic practice is based on an exploration of Balkan ancestry, tradition and culture, bridging the gap between sentiment and document. Viewing his childhood and upbringing through the lens of cultural, social and historical conditions, he presents subjective memories and personal heritage as part of collective memory. He creates a phantasmagoria infused with a personal sense of strangeness and melancholy, interspersed with tenderness and warmth.
