Het Moeras
Het Moeras is a symbolic film about someone who has lost his way in life, and does not know what the right steps are to find his way back. Such a search can become so frenetic that the possible ways out become invisible and you only stare blindly at the problem in front of you, without taking action. Het Moeras will examine the frenetic nature of this struggle, the desperation and a possible way out.
Daniel de Vries is a director and screenwriter. He previously directed the short films 121 km/h and Wit Goud and wrote the short film Obesk with actor Jonas Smulders. In his work he explores new worlds unknown to him. Often these worlds are recognizable, but not (entirely) realistic. By placing recognizable themes (such as friendship, destruction or finding the right direction) in a new context and magnifying them, he tries to explore these themes. During this research, he is fascinated by psychology and the complex human choices that make someone who they are. Through his films, he seeks to better understand his own inner world, and thus the world around him.
