Full-Scale
Anna Bogomolova received a grant to develop a new film. Full-Scale is an experimental art film in which Anna explores immersive audiovisual techniques to draw attention to the environmental damage caused by the Russian invasion of Ukraine. While making clear the cost of war through its impact on the four elements of nature - water, air, earth and wildlife - Anna offers a story of hope, resilience and potential for positive change. During her research, Anna focuses on collecting and analyzing data on significant cases of ecocide, as well as personal experiences and post-war healing efforts that are essential to shaping the film's narrative. She wonders to what extent she can use symbolic audiovisual language and immersive film techniques to make this complex and sensitive subject understandable and relatable.
Anna is a Ukrainian-Dutch director and creative producer working with filmmaking, experimental theater, mixed-media and projects that push the boundaries of immersive and participatory art. Her recent film works Physical Culture, Breathe, Walk, Die, Orla & Sam and the performance Transformation Cave have received international acclaim. Anna's emerging auteur style is characterized by poetic storytelling, playful aesthetics and energy, often inspired by electronic music culture. Deeply troubled by the humanitarian and environmental catastrophe of the war in Ukraine, Anna seeks to use her artistic expression to promote awareness of ecocide and healing in the aftermath of the conflict.
