Visual research

Malou Palmboom received a contribution for her visual research into the experiences of young children. By engaging in a close collaboration with toddlers, theater maker Malou Palmboom investigates how young children experience a new environment and how through art toddlers and their parents/caregivers can discover a new environment in a conscious and imaginative way. By involving the target audience a lot in the entire process, a sense of ownership is created for both the audience and the maker.

Malou Palmboom designs sets and costumes and makes visual installations from things she collects or is amazed by. She promotes environmental awareness and imagination by putting a spotlight on those things that other people often fail to notice.
