International AmoFest
The Amarte Fund is pleased to support International AmoFest! A festival organized by Berima Amo, dedicated to folk music, ethno jazz and fusions with other genres. The Amarte Fonds will support a number of Netherlands-based musicians who, at the invitation of Berima Amo, will perform during the event. The goal of the festival is to provide a diverse program and create an event that energizes and brings together BIPOC people from around the world. The festival is full of musical variety and takes place in Accra (the capital of Ghana), a hub for many African people from the diaspora, where a thriving local music subculture is growing.
The first edition of the festival took place May 27 at the amphitheater of Alliance Française in Accra, Ghana with performances by:
